EARLY KEYBOARD INSTRUMENTS

large_PL-13-2.jpg

A rare opportunity teachers and their pupils for to view and play suitable pieces on some early keyboard instruments, including three square pianos of different dates, a harpsichord, a virginal and two house organs (www.plumleycollection.co.uk).    Any one interested in coming to the session and would like further information about the instruments should contact      for a specific list of the instruments and their dates. Playing pieces on more historic pianos or, when appropriate, the harpsichord, obviously gives more of an insight into interpretation on modern pianos and you will find it illuminating and of historical interest, even if one subsequently goes away again to perform one's piece on a modern instrument!
