Member Biography
A dedicated music educator and pianist, Greta Gasser has over a decade of experience shaping the next generation of musicians. Currently a Lecturer in Music, Piano Mentor for the Practical Pedagogy courses at the Royal Northern College of Music, and Piano Tutor for the Junior RNCM, she is passionate about providing accessible and inclusive music education. She also runs a private teaching practice, Gasser Music Studio, and has previously taught at Yorkshire Young Musicians (Leeds) and Manchester High School for Girls. In addition to academic and piano teaching, Greta is passionate about facilitating music education to underserved communities. Her work has included leading adult choirs and supporting gifted students through charitable initiatives. As President of Asociația Culturală Gasser, she is committed to ensuring that music and the arts remain accessible to all, regardless of background or financial means. Originally from Romania, Greta trained at a specialist music school from the age of 7 to 18, where she won multiple national and international piano competitions. She later earned both her Bachelor of Music (Hons) and Master of Music degrees in Piano Performance from the Royal Northern College of Music, studying under Helen Krizos and Frank Wibaut. Greta is committed to helping the next generation of piano teachers build meaningful, student-centred careers in music education. She is also a believer in developing confident, expressive musicians by encouraging creative approaches to piano playing.
