EPTA UK Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy 2025-2026

EPTA UK is a charitable membership organisation. EPTA UK’s purpose is to raise the standard of piano teaching, piano performance and general musicianship in the UK by providing opportunities for pianists, piano teachers and other interested parties to exchange ideas, learn from others, share the experience of high-quality performances, undertake research and share information through meetings, seminars, courses, conferences and publications.

EPTA UK recognises that good safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures are of benefit to everyone involved, including volunteers, as they can help protect them from erroneous or malicious allegations.

In line with the latest safeguarding legislation, EPTA UK recognises that individuals affected by abuse may prefer to identify with different terms. We encourage all staff and volunteers to be sensitive to the preferences of individuals and use appropriate, person-first language when discussing safeguarding concerns.
