Author of ‘The Complete Pianist’ [2020] and 3 books of
Teaching Essential Piano Technique [2023]

The Complete Pianist is one of the most significant volumes on piano technique to appear in recent decades. It is a remarkable achievement, a comprehensive manual for pianists and teachers, packed with invaluable accumulated wisdom and intelligent advice, and excellent supporting materials. Penelope Roskell communicates well the craft and art of piano playing, without ever devaluing musical ability, talent and artistry, and provides pianists with the tools to practice and work independently, yet with the sense of a supportive, sympathetic teacher always at one’s side.
Penelope will explain the rationale behind the 3 associated technique books, discuss how to use them effectively and demonstrate lots of practical, fun activities teachers can use with their young students.
