Concert Opportunity – EPTA Essex

EPTA Essex is arranging a series of concerts for piano students on Sunday 5th July at St Botolph’s Church, Colchester, and would like to invite piano students to come and perform. These concerts are on behalf of EPTA Essex, and are open to students of EPTA piano teachers in Essex.

This will be a great opportunity to perform on the St Botolph’s Steinway concert grand piano, and in the beautiful resonance of St Botolph’s Church. The venue address is St Botolph’s Church Walk, Off Queen Street, Colchester, CO2 7EE.  There are a number of paid carparks in the Colchester town Centre, including a Britannia and an NCP carpark which are nearby the church.

The concerts will be free to come watch / take part, with a retiring collection at the end of each concert. Doors open 15 minutes prior to each concert.
The three concerts during the afternoon, are as follows:

• CONCERT 1 (2:00pm-2:45pm) – Under 12’s, young beginners up to Grade 2/3 level.
Performance of 1-2 short pieces, maximum 2 minutes per performance. Spaces for around 20 performers.

• CONCERT 2 (3:00pm-4:15pm) – Over 10’s, Beginners to Intermediates / Grade 6 level.
Performance of 1 long piece or 2 shorter pieces, maximum 4 minutes per performance. Spaces for up to 16 performers.

• CONCERT 3 (4:30pm-5:45pm) – Intermediate to Advanced levels.
Performance of 1 longer piece or 2 short pieces, around 6-8 minutes per performance. Spaces for around 10 performers.

For siblings, there’s hopefully enough cross-over in the levels and age-groups to find the best-fit concert. If any duets, extra time will be allocated so that individuals could also perform their solos. In order to take part in one of these concerts, could all performers please email Theresa Chapman on trees_and_ferns@hotmail.com with the following information:
