This is an 8 week online course for piano teachers looking to re-energise their career and teaching practice. Start Date 8th May (times tbc once group is together, all sessions will be recorded)
The course consists of 8 x 90 min online modules and will cover topics such as:
- Imposter Syndrome and how we can build confidence in our professionalism as a piano teacher
- Teaching Healthy Technique
- A look at use of Dalcroze and Kodaly methods in teaching and how they can help build good foundations
- Coping with Performance Anxiety
- A walk-through some set pieces with Lorraine with discussions on approaches
- ‘The Harmonious Triangle’- how to build a great working relationship between, student, teacher and parent and engage parents with their child’s musical journey and practice
- Building an Individual Curriculum for each student (Repertoire Choices0
- Motivating Students (looking at extrinsic and intrinsic motivation)
- Teaching Agreements-what you need to cover
It will also be an opportunity to chat and share ideas/concerns with other piano teachers. The course will be recorded so any sessions missed can be caught up with. There will be an optional follow up group coaching call fortnightly for questions.
There will be a private facebook group for questions and networking.
The introductory offer for signups this week is £350 for to EPTA members booking before April 21st (the price for the next cohort of students will be £700)
