So you want to be a piano teacher? Essential Resources, Repertoire and What to Prepare for

*This webinar is the second in a four-part series curated specifically for students and young professionals.

Are you preparing to teach piano – perhaps for the first time – or looking to refresh your approach? This webinar offers a practical, scenario-based exploration of what piano teaching involves, focusing on the skills, resources, and support that help teachers thrive.

Led by Greta Gasser, with Bethan Scolding and Adam Heron from EPTA UK’s Student and Young Professionals group, the session will walk through four realistic teaching scenarios: the first lesson, choosing repertoire, developing core skills, and motivating disengaged students.

The discussion will highlight essential tools and strategies that our Student and Young Professional members have found most helpful — from lesson planning and creative skill development to keeping learning engaging for both teacher and student.

Participants will also discover opportunities for training, mentoring, networking, and continuing professional development (CPD) designed to support early-career piano teachers.

Whether you’re just starting out or rethinking your teaching style, this session will offer fresh ideas, useful resources, and practical inspiration to enhance your lessons.
