I have 30 years of experience teaching children, undergraduates at Cambridge University, and adults with excellent results. My own recitals consist of music from the 20th and 21st centuries, including many first performances. However my training was grounded in traditional repertoire.
My teachers were Adolf Hallis (a Schnabel pupil), Lamar Crowson, Gyorgy Sandor (a Bartok pupil) and Susan Bradshaw.
It is important to me that the lives of my students are enhanced by making music whatever their ability. Whilst I am a serious teacher, I prefer a relaxed and humorous atmosphere so that the discipline of study is a pleasure which enhances confidence and wellbeing.
My CD with music by Janáček, Debussy, Messiaen David Earl and Stravinsky was reviewed, amongst others, in Fanfare magazine:
"Pianist Renee Reznek's affinity for her chosen repertoire, maturity of conception and superb technical command can be heard in every note of this highly polished ,yet intimate, recital.
The Classical Music Magazine and The American Record Guide also gave favourable reviews: "Reznek is one of the most lyrical pianists I have run into recently This disc gives an excellent view of her wonderful pianism." (The American Record Guide)
My 2017 CD of South African piano music, mostly written for me, "From the Beloved Country" received wonderful reviews. In the same year, my performamce of a wok composed for me by Sadie Harrison was included in her CD "Return of the Nightingales."
