I studied at Trinity College of Music London where I gained LTCL (teacher) and, from 1992-96, at the University of Sussex gained a BA (Hons.) in music and an MA in Language, the Arts and Education. I also have a BA (Hons) in music and BA (Open) from the Open University.
For the past six years I have been studying composition and some of my work has been performed publicly.
I have many years experience of teaching adults and children, beginners to grade 8 both in schools and privately. My approach is friendly and I have a good relationship with my pupils. My pupils prepare for examinations if they wish. I have an enhanced DBS certificate (formerly CBS check).
Mrs Maidment-Evans is an extremely empathetic piano teacher who has taught my daughter for the past five years. As a parent I am very appreciative of the kind support and encouragement she has given Charlotte, who has recently attained her grade 5.
This is to say what a brilliant and exceptional teacher Marion Maidment-Evans is, and how much our son Louis, aged 10, has enjoyed his lessons over the last 18 months. His progress has been most rewarding to watch.

I began having piano lessons with Mrs Marion Maidment-Evans as a very mature beginner nearly 4 years ago. Prior to that I had approached several piano teachers but the general feeling was that at my age I would not be able to cope with the co-ordination skills required and would find it all too difficult. Mrs Maidment-Evans did not take that view and with her teaching, encouragement and patience, I am enjoying the lessons and making progress.
