Susan ANDERSON - Teacher Profile

About Me

I have 20 years experience teaching piano (beginners to grade 8) and theory (up to grade 5). Pupils use a modern Schimmel grand piano at my studio and are encouraged to play a wide range of music. I aim to develop their all round musicality incorporating aural work, sight-reading and theory regularly in the lessons. In order to keep up with current ideas about instrumental teaching I attend courses, conferences and am a member of The Curious Piano Teachers which is an online training and resource group for piano teachers.

In addition to preparing pupils for piano exams with ABRSM or Trinity boards, I am able to help with piano performance required for GCSE and A Level music, both solo and ensemble items.
Annual concerts and other informal events are organised.
Most lessons are 30 minutes, although 45 minutes is more usual for the higher grades.
