About Me
Megan's passion for music began aged two, learning piano then, and later cello, choral singing and piano accompaniment. She was the principal cellist with the Coventry Youth Orchestra, conductor of the Hulme Hall Orchestra in Manchester and a member of the Hallé Choir. She now teaches piano, cello, singing and musicianship and has published in the EPTA Piano Professional Magazine on innovative teaching tools that she has invented. Megan is the Musicianship Lead at Ealing Junior Music School, designing and running classes for children aged 3-11. She supports students in pursuing their own musical goals, and has a strong track record for delivering happy musicians, excellent ABRSM exam results and student audition success. She continues to study piano, cello and voice with teachers from the Royal College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and to study Alexander Technique and Dalcroze. She holds a Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching (Broad training, with Piano Teaching as the subject of a research project and dissertation). She holds the Advanced Kodály Musicianship Diploma and is also training to become a Colourstrings Music Kindergarten Teacher with The Szilvay Foundation and holds Colourstrings Instrumental Teaching Phase 1. She has completed a course in Jazz Improvisation, and provides Cello Ensemble and Adult Musicianship Classes for students, where both improvisation skills and sight reading skills are developed, as well as organising masterclasses and workshops for students with concert pianists.
