Lorraine BANNING - Teacher Profile

About Me

My grandmorther was a professional pianist and I began playing the piano at around 7 years old, from my first lesson I fell completely in love with it from that moment onwards it was hard to drag me away from the piano. I went on to study for qualifications in both Performing and Teaching and for the last 32 years have taught Piano privately and in various schools in addition to performing.

I run a busy private teaching practice in Bedford and am a Visiting Piano Teacher at Bedford Girls' School, I  am also  on the 'deputy' teacher list for the Guildhall School of Music's Junior Guildhall department.

I continue to study and to perform and believe that we never stop learning. I enjoy performing very much and I also believe that performing enhances and informs our teaching, music is a life long journey.

Though I do take students of any level, I now specialise in teaching the higher grades (grade 4 +) but am willing to take all students who are serious about playing the piano.
