Teacher Profile
About Me
I offer lessons on a one to one basis to all ages and levels from my studio in Belsize Park. I can teach all styles including jazz and pop, but am best at classical. I also offer music theory, general musicianship, keyboard harmony and can prepare pupils for exams at all levels where desired and appropriate (including diplomas, auditions, public performances/recitals) and particularly enjoy teaching adults (including beginners and re-starters) of all standards. I’ve been teaching privately for twenty five years, my primary aim is that all pupils enjoy their lessons, their playing, and make steady progress, lessons are tailored to suit the individual and individual requirements. Lessons by Skype are also now possible if desired or required. I’m a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians, European Piano Teachers Association, and a Fellow of the Guild of Musicians and Singers. I studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama on the four year Performer’s course from 1984 – 1988 and graduated with the AGSM, then with scholarships from the Craxton Trust and Worshipful Company of Musicians for a further two years on the Advanced Solo Studies course and was awarded the Concert Recital Diploma GSMD (Premier Prix) in July 1990. I have given many solo recitals at St Martin in the Fields, St James’s Piccadilly, the Barbican Centre, St John’s Smith Square, the Purcell Room, and music societies throughout the UK.
