Teacher Profile
About Me
I am a highly qualified piano teacher, with more than 25 years experience of teaching students of all ages. I finished the Academy of Music (piano), and the four year piano teaching training course, organized by the British Suzuki Institute in London. I live in Peterborough and also teach Music Theory. I am a member of ISM ( The Independent Society of Musicians), EPTA and The Curious Piano Teachers (continuing professional development organisation).
I have taught at schools in St Albans, London and Enfield, as well as privately in London and in Peterborough, and successfully prepared students for grades (ABRSM, LCM, MTB and Trinity college), piano festivals (Peterborough and Oundle), and EPTA piano competitions. I also taught piano at the primary school in Crowland, Lincolnshire, until Covid 19.
Even though I prepare students for taking the graded exams, my main goal is to help pupils develop love for playing piano and music in general. So if they want just to learn to play piano without taking exams I am happy just to teach them a repertoire and piano pieces they would like to play.Since the start of the pandemic, I have been teaching online, using Skype, FaceTime, Zoom and Forte and all my pupils are happy with it. I also organise the end of term concerts on Zoom which my students very much enjoy.
My first 30 mins lesson is FREE. I charge £28 per hour, £20 per 45 mins, £14 per 30 mins.I believe that anyone can learn to play a musical instrument. Having fun while doing it is a great motivation and I always try my best to adjust to each child’s personality and the particular way they learn.
References (from First Tutors:Music website): “ From Ndidi (5/5): Danina is a fantastic piano teacher! She comes across as quite professional and experienced, very patient and interactive with the kids. Her method of teaching is very straightforward and easy to learn. She is very methodical in her approach, makes notes at the end of the lessons each week for what they should practice ahead and follows up with each lesson to see what they practised in between. It’s clear to see she has been doing this for quite a while and knows what she’s doing. The kids and I enjoy her lessons and look forward to them each week.” “ From Anil (5/5): We decided to get a home tutor after our 11 year old daughter made little progress with the tutor she had at school. It was also clear that the teaching didn’t inspire her and she felt it was more of a chore. All that has changed after Danina took over. We are very pleased at the rapid progress my daughter is making with Danina. Danina is very dedicated and a thorough professional and she has clearly managed to spark my daughter’s interest in music which is what we value more than anything else…”Qualifications
