About Me
Hello! I’m a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher – with over 20 years experience and a friendly, encouraging and professional approach. As a musician my first love is the piano, and other keyboard instruments such as the pipe organ – I have played with a jazz big band and variety of smaller groups, as well as performing and accompanying for private celebrations and events. I enjoy teaching all ages, from young beginners to adults and use a variety of methods always tailored to the individual student. My main focus is on classical and jazz, but also other genres such as folk or pop can be covered. The main thing is for each student to develop their skill to play the kind of music they would like to play, and above all to enjoy making music at whatever level. Adults, both beginners and returners, are especially welcome and my “Piano Hours” are very popular.. I also teach music theory, and include elements of improvisation and creativity in all my teaching.
