About Me
Jenny Walker is an accomplished pianist, violinist and musician, with a performance diploma, BA (Hons), teaching certificate and diploma in special education. She has a thriving piano teaching practice, both at Kesteven and Grantham Girls School, and at home.
She has an impressive portfolio, having played in, and conducted for choirs and groups in Germany, Southampton, Oxford, Leicester, Bedfordshire and Grantham. She was Musical Director for Grantham Operatic Society for five years, overseeing productions such as Sweeney Todd, The Mikado, Fiddler on the Roof and Carousel. She also accompanied The Grantham Singers and a male voice choir.
She has, as a pianist, performed abroad and around the UK, including the Scottish highlands. She has also moved into the world of composition and is the proud winner of first and third prizes in the national competition organised by EPTA of which she is a professional member. She now writes for the online American distributor, Piano Pronto and has pieces available for listening and download on their site. She has also published books on Amazon, sheet music at Sheet Music Plus and has pieces published by TimeWarp Technologies, on their SuperScore App.
She continues to play for a local choir and examinations. She now runs a ladies choir called InVoice and an instrumental trio called Motif, where she composes, and encourages other members to composer songs and pieces. She also plays fiddle in a ceilidh band. She continues to participate in piano groups such as the Piano Circle in Nottingham.
