Piano teaching has traditionally centred on the relationship between an individual teacher and student. However, learning alongside others can introduce different opportunities for musical exploration, communication and understanding.

Drawing on research into socially mediated learning and practical experience of group piano teaching, this webinar explores how collaboration, peer learning and shared musical activities can contribute to children’s musical development. We will consider practical approaches that can be incorporated into individual lessons, paired teaching and group settings, without requiring teachers to adopt an entirely new teaching model.
