EPTA UK recognises the importance of supporting aspiring teachers and musicians from beginning their studies to stepping into the working world.  Whether you want to pursue a career in performance, start your own music school, are working towards a post-graduate research project or simply like to indulge in the enjoyment of piano playing, this is the hub for you.

Students and Young Professionals Subcommittee

We recently created a Students and Young Professionals Subcommittee, which is run for and by younger members of EPTA UK under the chairmanship of Greta Gasser.

We are committed to welcoming younger teachers to EPTA and to offer support, training, advice, networking and opportunities to share research. EPTA UK Student Ambassador Programme  

We understand that being a student comes with financial pressures, and there often isn’t much money left over for professional memberships or career development. That’s why we created the Student Ambassador Programme. It provides everything you need to begin your teaching journey, completely free of charge.

Student Ambassadors receive complimentary EPTA UK membership, giving them access to all the same fantastic benefits as our full Professional Membership, including public liability insurance, enhanced DBS administration, exclusive music discounts, professional development opportunities, and much more. 

As a Student Ambassador, you’ll be the link between your university or conservatoire and EPTA UK. You’ll gain valuable experience in communication, leadership, event promotion, and networking—skills that are highly valued whether you go on to become a performer, teacher, researcher, or arts administrator. 

In return, we ask that you help share information about our events, competitions, conferences, and membership opportunities, while encouraging your fellow students to get involved and helping to foster important conversations around piano pedagogy and wider piano topics.
