The LCM Piano Syllabus 2026: A new Approach to Piano Assessment

In this session, LCM will present their new Piano Syllabus for 2026, exploring pedagogical and technical underpinnings, new repertoire, syllabus design, assessment approach and musician‑centred design.
Ben will explain the thinking behind recent developments, including the introduction of Keyboard Harmony test as an alternative to sight reading, and how the flexibility of the syllabus reflects both continuity and changes in current teaching practice.
