Tessa NEWTON - Teacher Profile

About Me

I have been teaching piano for about 15 years and I teach in schools and privately.

My qualification is the Certificate of Piano Teaching (PTC) which I received in 2013 through the EPTA (UK) Course at the Purcell School in Berkshire.

I use a variety of  and combinations of different beginner books, to suit individual learners, although of course I have my favourites.   This includes downloads and free printables in different teaching methods, finger number games,  note learning games, and theory games.

Favourite composers of piano music are Schumann,  Kabalevsky, Bach, Haydn and early twentieth century British composers such as Felix Swinstead, Malcolm Arnold and Michael Head.

I also teach the violin,  and hold an ARSM violin diploma. I play Violin I in my local orchestra and my favourite orchestral composers are Beethoven,  Brahms, and Bizet,   and another B - Benjamin Britten!

Please contact me about learning either Piano or Violin,  and I will be very pleased to help you.
