Lora was born in Bulgaria but after traveling and performing around the world as a classical solo artist, she settled in England. During her career as a soloist and a chamber musician Lora won prizes at numerous prestigious competitions such as “J.S.Bach” in Germany, “Young Pianists Virtuosi” in Czechoslovakia, “Maria Callas” in Greece, and Chimay Competition in Belgium. In the UK she was awarded BP and Arthur Boyd music scholarships, the Parkhouse Award for chamber music and many others.
She has recorded 7 CDs, four of which with classical music, one with contemporary British piano music, and the last two – with jazz for HEY-U Entertainment (Austria). She signed concerts and recordings contracts with the Young Concert Artists Trust (YCAT), GBZ, ANNON and Redcliff Recordings in the UK.
As well as performing mainly as a soloist, Lora has played with many instrumentalists and ensembles. Highlights of her career as a performer were concerts in the Salzburg Music Festival with the LSO and Sir Georg Solti, her debuts at the Wigmore, Barbican and Royal Festival Halls in London, Concert House in Vienna, the Thcaikovsky Grand Hall in Moscow, and numerous other concert halls around Europe and the United States.
Lora's teaching experience stretches over nearly 40 years. She has held teaching posts in The Bulgarian State Music Academy, in Guildhall School of Music and Drama London (Junior and Senior Departments), in Christchurch University Canterbury Post-Graduate Performance lecturer, as well as providing master classes at the Purcell, Menuhin and Cheatham schools of music. She is a senior tutor at the Kent International Piano Course in Tunbridge, Kent.
She dedicates most of her working life now to running her private music school (Sospiro Piano Centre) and being Head of Keyboard and Jazz for Bromley Youth Music Trust. She continues to perform classical solo and chamber music as well as widening her repertoire and music interests by playing keyboards for the electronic renaissance rock band Crisium, and writing the jazz arrangements for her jazz quartets Salora and Quattro Plus.
Lora is the founding member of the Yamaha Summer International Piano & Composition School which runs annually at the Bromley Youth Music Centre in Kent, UK.
She teaches at the Advanced Piano Maestros and at the Little Piano Virtuosi courses.
