Leanne Farley - Teacher Profile

About Me

As a teacher of piano, flute, recorder, clarinet and theory, I have over 30 years experience and I currently work with students ranging from 5-71! Lessons are individually structured to work at each pupils’ own pace and to cater for different musical tastes and interests. Students can enter for Associated Board (ABRSM) music exams if they wish to; exams happen three times a year and many students achieve merits and distinctions. I have also had students gain success with winning music scholarships to local independent secondary schools. I teach theory to Grade 5 and beyond, and all lessons are available weekly or fortnightly.

Pupils are also invited to play in small scale recitals and music festivals if they wish to do so.

Qualifications

I have a B Mus (Hons) 2:1 from the University of Sheffield and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from Homerton College, Cambridge University and in 2016 I  became an examiner for the ABRSM.  I am a member of the European Piano Teacher’s Association and am DBS checked. I hold public liability insurance through European Piano Teacher’s Association and am based in Lee-on-the-Solent, Hampshire.
