Teacher Profile
About Me
I trained at the Royal College of Music and graduated with a degree – GRSM (Hons.) – and teaching diploma – ARCM. I have taught the piano for many years in London and latterly the South West of England – privately, peripatetically in the state and private sectors and at further and higher education levels. I teach all levels from beginners to advanced, children and adults. My pupils routinely achieve distinctions in their exams and several have been 1st prize-winners at competitions in Sutton, Taunton and Bristol. My teaching is largely based on the principles of Tobias Matthay, with whom one of my teachers studied. I have performed as a soloist, accompanist, chamber musician and orchestral pianist in London, France, Denmark and the South West. My playing can be heard on YouTube. I presently have a private teaching practice and give face to face and online lessons. Please see my website for further information: carolinewallisnewport.co.uk I am proud to have been a member of EPTA for a number of years.
