About Me
Rosemary is a pianist, teacher, composer and poet with over twenty years experience of teaching piano and formerly ‘cello to students of all ages and abilities. She holds a ALCM Diploma in Piano Performance followed by several years of further study with Professor Emile Philippe at the Guildhall School of Music. On his recommendation, she began working as a concert pianist and chamber musician in and around East Anglia, giving many solo piano performances. In her teaching, she uses both Trinity and ABRSM exam boards for exams and coaches grade 5 theory, A level performance and GCSE performance preparation. Her particular strengths are her musicianship and creativity. She studied composition with teachers including Malcolm Singer, Jonathan Darnborough at Oxford University Continuing Education and Joe Howard, Royal Academy of Music. She writes for piano, chamber, choir and orchestra and her works have been performed in USA, Poland, France and the UK. She is a keen collaborator with other artists. She also runs ‘Soul Music’ sessions which she has developed using her improvisation skills to create atmospheres of healing and calm and to connect with the deeper parts of ourselves – our soul, our Self. This work is informed by her own journey of self discovery and raising consciousness. She uses this aspect of her work in hospitals, retreats and conferences and is exploring other ways to use the work. Please see further information via her website: Rosemary Jefford
