EPTA UK is delighted to welcome celebrated pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason, as our Youth Ambassador. Isata will have the opportunity to raise the profile and attract publicity for EPTA by sharing her inspiring stories and demonstrating the impact of EPTA membership.
Isata Kanneh-Mason’s extraordinary talent as a pianist has earned recognition and acclaim from a young age; she completed her undergraduate degree at the Royal Academy of Music as an Elton John Scholar and was a category finalist in the BBC Young Musician in 2014. Since her studies with Hamish Milne and Carole Presland at London’s Royal Academy of Music, she has embarked on a successful and increasingly busy concert career as a solo artist, with concerto appearances, solo recitals and chamber concerts throughout the UK and abroad.
Isata Kanneh-Mason’s debut album, Romance, drew popular and critical acclaim, entering the UK classical charts at No. 1 when it was released in July 2019 and leading Gramophone magazine to extol the recording as “one of the most charming and engaging debuts” and Classic FM to praise Isata as “a player of considerable talent”.
Isata adds ‘I am very excited to be joining EPTA as a youth ambassador, and am honoured to have been asked to take the role! As a young musician, I would not be where I am today without all of the incredible teachers that helped me during my journey, and I believe that teaching is such an integral part of a musicians development, throughout their entire life’.
